Zero to WebMapApp: Use a Yeoman Generator to create a Web Map App

Tue, 07/08/2014 - 5:25am -- Anonymous (not verified)

Creating a web mapping application, many times the most difficult part is getting started, getting the scaffolding working to build from. This is especially true if you are just getting started, if development is not your forte. Yeoman combined with my Esri-Bootstrap-Map generator dramatically streamlines this process

Yeoman provides a way to quickly get up and running when creating applications, typically web applications, provided a template called a generator exists for the type of project you are creating. Fortunately for you, there is a generator called Esri-Bootstrap-Map I created for exactly this use. It uses the templates from the Esri-Bootstrap-Map-JS project, enabling you to choose from four different templates when creating your web mapping application.

In this session we will discuss requirements, installation and use. Going from zero to generated web map application really can be done in under 10 minutes, and we will walk through it. By the end you will be familiar with how to go from zero to web map app in less time than it takes to eat lunch.
