Final Sunriver 2009 Northwest GIS Conference Program Guide available

Submit an Abstract. Vote on Sessions. Be Part of NWGIS09!

UPDATE Oct. 12, 2009 - Abstract Submission has been closed for the 2009 NWGIS conference.

Tired of boring presentations that don't relate to what you do?

Do something about it.  Influence the outcome by voting for abstracts as they are submitted to NWGIS Sessions.  Better yet, present yourself.  I know the idea is abstract, but it's one sure way to make sure the conference isn't abstract for the rest of us.

Take a look around.  This year's conference theme is "Doing More with Less."  That goes for this endeavor as well.

  • Share your hacks, scripts, tips and tricks.
  • Document ways you're succeeding in this economy.
  • Recycle the poster you took to a conference last October.

But whatever you do, participate.  Share your thoughts, vote on the outcome and come October floor us with your insights (or at least a good joke).

Come jump in our pool!

NWGIS now has a group photopool on flickr.  Anyone can join and share their photos.  Additions to the flickr photopool will appear on nwgis.org as well!

Or if you're not into the group scene you can still share!  Tag your photos of NWGIS events nwgis and you'll turn us onto them.

I see a virtual poster contest in our future!

What do you think of the new design?

Come kick the tires.  nwgis.org was recently redesigned.  The new look and feel aren't just hood ornaments, we've got power windows and intermittent wipers now!

No really.  We've gone social.  Take a look around.  Comment on our blogs.  Take our polls.  Head over to our flickr photopool and share some photos with us.  And when you're tired of being Anonymous sign in to create a profile for yourself and be able to post comments without moderation.  Our conference website has new wheels too.  Heck, it even has a forum.

We hope you like what we have so far, but we're not done yet.  We'd like to open it up even more, but before we throw you the keys we'd like to hear from you on how you think it can be better.  We'd like for this to be your site.

Please add your thoughts in the comments below.

Anonymous comments are held first for moderation, but you know how to get around that now don't you?
