Hi all,
I enjoyed the conference very much at Sunriver this year.
It occurred to me that perhaps the GIS Conference might be better off supporting venues that employ unionized workers or , at least, full time workers with benefits. I am sure that there are comparable venues that could both support the conference and have a unionized staff. I am not even entirely sure what that status of the folks working at Sunriver is, other than not being unionized ... just kind of thinking out loud here.
I am wondering if there has ever been any discussion of this?
Again, it was a really nice conference this year, from the venue to the speakers and presentations. I am not trying to create any divisiveness or anything like that. Am just curious if that has ever been an issue that has been discussed or if that is even something we as an organization are concerned with.
thanks!
