Presentations and Posters

A primary purpose of the Northwest GIS User Group is to facilitate the communication and sharing among geospatial professionals in the Pacific Northwest. One tool toward that endeavor are the concurrent user presentations at the annual NWGIS conference. Presentations typically consist of a 20-25 minute talk with a PowerPoint show and 5-10 minutes for audience questions. Topics run the gamut of geospatial topics, from education to techical to topical categories.

The annual poster contest is a great way to show off your work and to make contacts with attendees who have similar interests. The event will follow a traditional format with participants displaying a map or poster in the gallery for attendees to view. Their will also be a kiosk for Web Map applications. The entrants will be judged by a panel of judges and three awards will be granted:

  • Best Cartography
  • Best Analytical Presentation
  • Best Web App

There will also be a People's Choice award that will be decided by voting from the conference attendees.

Your work is important and of interest to your fellow geospatial professionals. Submit your presentation abstract today and share your work with others.
